Giordano's is home to your traditional Chicago deep dish pizza, which means I typically only go there when out-of-town friends come to visit. However, this weekend was an exception.
In honor the the Cubs Convention each year, Giordano's pulls together its famous deep dish pizza and adds a little Cubs flare to it. Because my friends and I didn't actually buy tickets for the convention, we celebrated with some Cubbie pizza. It was just as good as it looks (maybe even better).

To top it off, we ordered the s'mores pizza for dessert. Yup, cinnamon sugar sprinkled crust, hot fudge and roasted marshmallows. As usual, our eyes were bigger than our stomachs, so fortunately I still have some of this left over to snack on today. Yummmmmmmm!
Deep dish pizza is certainly not an every weekend meal, but ordering it every once in awhile is no disappointment.
*Pro-tip: both of these pizzas take awhile to make (deep dish: 45 minutes, s'mores pizza: 25 minutes) so order quick and early if you're hungry!
