This past Monday I turned 23 and to celebrate, I was treated to an amazing evening 1,000 feet above the city. Yep, the Signature Room of the John Hancock Center.
To be in the lounge area, you must be 21 or older, and each three times I had my ID checked, I was pleasantly surprised when the person would wish me a happy birthday. For whatever reason, I always forget my birth date is on clearly visible on there...

To head up to the 96th floor (the lounge is the 96th; the signature room is the 95th), we packed into this elevator and right as the doors closed, the bouncer made everyone wish me a happy birthday. Tight corridors… People staring… Eeek. It was entertaining nonetheless.
To start the evening, we enjoyed drinks and watched the sunset over the city. Just beautiful. Dinner was incredible as well. I don’t think my eyes ever moved away from the sparkly city lights surrounding the room.

Drinks, apps and food are all fairly pricey here, but it’s definitely worth a visit at some point, especially if it's for a special occasion.
*Pro-tip: the ladies room has the best view of the entire place - be sure to sneak a peek.
